Manila Metropolitan Cathedral

When we were required to take photos showing different subject placement rules, the first place I had in mind for photoshoot was Intramuros. I knew I would never run out of potential subjects for my plate as long as I have the courage to bring out my camera even amidst a crowd of strangers. This is one of the photos I took using symmetry as a composition and subject placement technique. Aided by the main autofocus point in the viewfinder, i made sure that vertical space right in between the two doors was the axis of symmetry so that everything else is balanced and proportional. This wonderful masterpiece is the dominating main portal of the Manila Metropolitan Cathedral or the Cathedral – Basilica of the Immaculate Conception located right at the very heart of the walled city of Intramuros.
